Haiti trip!

So, here is the story. I am just so appreciative of the way God loves me. He knows me. He knows my heart, he knows my desires, he knows my secrets and frustrations. When the earthquake hit Haiti a few weeks ago I immediately wanted to be there. Since I was 7 years old I have been traveling to other countries, either with my wonderful parents and brother, or through a missions organization, or by myself. I love to be immersed in another culture, to see people shine in the light of who God has made them to be. I love to see people have an opportunity to meet Jesus and know Him because He has made all the difference in my life! All this said, I began to pray for an opportunity to go, and began contacting my old friends who are still working full time in missions. I heard of the trip that Jess Stern was leading through a phone call from my mom. I sent a mad text to Jim, emailed Jess, and then read the post...ah, action without information :) Then, I read the post and realized this was not an open trip. Jess was so gracious and told me that if there were any open spots in the future she would let me know. I was bummed, yet the wonderful mother that I have simply said, "Don't lose faith, you're going!" Just a few days later, I received a call that the spot was open. Sooooo, I am going to Haiti on March 15-20th. We will be visiting a few different orphanages to love on those sweet babies, bring them supplies, and money for various needs. I have been to many different countries all over the world, but I have never been anywhere after a natural disaster. Please pray for the people of Haiti. Please pray for the orphans and the loss they already experience on a daily basis, as well as the new losses they may have endured since this catastrophe. I believe God has the ability and longs to turn disaster into greatness. He longs to pour out his love on these precious little souls. I am so excited that He has given me this opportunity, because I feel like in sending me He is showing me His deep love. I love the way He loves me. It is not always the way I expect, or the way I prefer, but He knows me. He knows my needs, He knows me. Anyway, the goal for this trip is to practically and personally show the orphans love. I know that I will probably be a mess as we drive through the rubble. Please pray for strength and that God will give us all grace to hold it together and work effectively. Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance for your prayers!
By the way...I think it is really powerful when we pray what God says, so for a little jumpstart to your prayers you can pray James 1:27

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

To give towards relief for Haiti, 100% safe and secure, and knowing that it will go directly first-hand to orphans, donate here:http://destinychurch.org/online-giving/ and put "Haiti trip" in the description. I will be personally delivering supplies and money to orphanages down there in March.
